Every once in a while, I crave silly, grin-inducing pieces of artwork. You know, something to balance out all of the thrift store art and cat portraits gracing my walls. What better way than a piece of cheeky typographic artwork, like these pieces from Twamies (top), David Shrigley (middle), and Sara Eshak (bottom) .
When adding typographic artwork to a gallery wall collection, I look for certain characteristics to set my pieces apart. I’m partial to watercolor text because it feels like a modern take on a traditional method of painting. Also, I adore hand-drawn fonts; the shakier the better! Lastly, a sweet touch—such as a bold flower—will soften even the the cheekiest sentiment.
