When we decided our summer issue would focus on bringing art into the home, we knew we wanted to include a work in the magazine for readers to enjoy in their own spaces. And while we were talking with Atlanta-based Britt Bass for the feature we included on her, that idea solidified and plans were made for her to create an original painting to appear on the back cover of the issue.
Britt knew early on that she wanted to be a painter, but she studied several different styles at the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art before discovering abstracts. And once she did, everything fell into place and she knew she’d found her niche.
If you missed it your first time reading through the latest issue, the back cover is graced with a print of the colorful, airy abstract Britt entitled Summer. Britt says she was trying to evoke light, cheery mood with the painting. The print in the magazine is made to be cut out and framed, pinned to an inspiration board, or simply propped up on a desk. But today we’re also giving away Britt’s original 10-by-14-inch painting.
To enter for your chance to win, just leave a comment below telling us where in your home you’d like to hang this painting.
One winner will be chosen at random. The giveaway ends at 11:59pm PT on August 27, 2013. No purchase necessary to enter for a chance to win. See complete rules here.
