I always love coming across new forms of artwork, and these embroideries from Stephanie K. Clark are no exception. With an extensive background in painting and drawing, Stephanie’s “thread paintings” show her growth and experimentation in a less traditional medium. She believes that transforming thread into art is a magical process and is currently focusing her attention on fiber art—mixing paint and thread on fabrics.
Stephanie’s house embroideries are particularly interesting. These pieces remind me of the architectural renderings I painstakingly learned to create in college, but with the three-dimensional element of thread. The level of detail within each work is truly incredible. From long stitches combining multiple colors to French knots to skinny black machine embroidery to mimic hand-drawn linework, Stephanie captures the character of many home styles.
My personal favorite is this motorhome complete with a sweet pooch!
